THE MCCQE1 EXAMINATION

Starting July 7, 2025, applicants who have completed their postgraduate training outside of Canada will no longer be required to hold the LMCC designation or to have completed the MCCQE Part I to be eligible for licensure in the associate physician, assessment, provisional or full class of registration in BC.

The Medical Council of Canada Qualifying Examination (MCCQE) Part I is a summative examination that assesses the critical medical knowledge and clinical decision-making ability of a candidate at a level expected of a medical student who is completing their medical degree in Canada.
