REFERRAL, INTERVIEW, AND SELECTION PROCESS
Applicants who meet our pre-screening eligibility criteria, possess a letter of eligibility from CPSBC for licensure, and have passed the MCC TDM within the previous three years, may be referred to health authorities for interviews, selection, and admission to PRA-BC.
Interviews and selection by health authorities is a competitive process. A limited number of communities are identified for each PRA-BC intake. (Get to know BC’s communities here.)
Health authorities emphasize the need for physicians to provide ER services. If you would like to strengthen your chances of being interviewed and selected for sponsorship by a regional health authority, we strongly advises applicants to practice in emergency medicine and to obtain certification in the following areas:
Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS)
