REFERRAL, INTERVIEW, AND SELECTION PROCESS

Applicants who meet our pre-screening eligibility criteria, possess a valid CPSBC resolution letter for registration and licensure, and have passed the MCC TDM within the previous two years, may be referred to health authorities for interviews, selection, and admission to PRA-BC.

Interviews and selection by health authorities is a competitive process. A limited number of communities are identified for each PRA-BC intake. (Get to know BC’s communities here.)

In rural communities, health authorities emphasize the need for physicians to provide ER services. If you wish to practice in a rural community, and would like to strengthen your chances of being interviewed and selected for a rural community, PRA-BC strongly advises applicants to practice in emergency medicine and to obtain certification in the following areas:
